As a former Musical Theatre actress who has transitioned full-time into the business world, I can still remember sitting on the floor of the AEA building. The audition of the day was packed, and I was scooting from friend to friend asking for temp agency recommendations. I had just returned from a gig and did not want to go out of town again. One person pulled out a business card from her temp agency and other people were scribbling their temp agent’s info on it. “There has got to be a better way” I thought. So, when I went home that night, Googled around, and couldn’t find a resource to help actors find a Survival Job, I created one.
From 2008-2017 my website, Survival Jobs for Actors, went through many changes, and as passionate as I was about Survival Jobs, there was so much more about this career I thought was important to explore.
